I can't stress enough to my clients that self-care at home is as important as getting a massage. Here are 3 things you can do.
Stop what causes the pain, which most clients are well aware of, such as overworking and sitting too long.
Self-massage at home makes a big difference as well as regular massages. I show how to do it after a massage session. I have seen many diligent clients who improved their conditions tremendously between massage sessions; some even avoided a surgery.
Listen to your body and change your lifestyle. I don't suggest to my clients what they should do. They already know what they have to and want to change. Most of them mention eating better and losing weight. I am more like a cheerleader to encourage them as they are already ready to change their lifestyle. Getting a massage is a first step for a change.
